Sweden has become a very popular tourist attraction, the international tourist arrival and their consumtion in Sweden have both hit the roof.

The tourist season has begun and foreign visitors are flocking to Sweden. The most popular areas are Stockholm, Western Götaland, Skåne, Värmland and the north of Sweden. The largerst tourist group comes from Norway.
VisitSweden has been working hard in promoting Sweden as an exciting destination for tourists, travel organizations and foreign journalists; for instance through the webcampaign Swedish Romantic Cities, targeting young couples in Berlin, Barcelona and London.
The international tourist arrival has increased steadily during the last couple of years, and both hotel bookings and foreign consumption in Sweden reached an all time high last year, the later with an amazing 600 million dollars spent in Sweden
The majority of the international tourists come from Norge, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
